FRIENDS OF SENIORS was established in 2010 to support wellness, life enrichment, dignity and independence of El Dorado County seniors and their caregivers through advocacy and financial assistance.  The work of Friends of Seniors is only possible because of dedicated volunteers and generous donors.  An all-volunteer organization, Friends of Seniors raises funds to support the following three programs:
 
SENIOR EMERGENCY FUND helps seniors aged 60 and older with one-time financial assistance in an unforeseen crisis.
 
COMMUNITY GRANT PROGRAM provides an opportunity for nonprofits and agencies on the western slope to apply for a grant to help fund their program or project benefiting seniors. (NOW OPEN) 
 
SENIOR SANTA gives seniors on a limited income the opportunity to purchase gifts for family and friends or much needed items for themselves.   It is a special time to share the joy of the holiday season.

  • Friends of Seniors, a fund of the El Dorado Community Foundation, will be awarding a total of up to $15,000 in grants to El Dorado County nonprofits and agencies that support the wellness, life enrichment, dignity and independence of Seniors (60+) residing on the WESTERN slope of El Dorado County.

    Developing scholarship assistance to enable El Dorado County seniors to participate in senior programs and services
